cfgrant@carlsbergfoundation.dkWith its autumn call 2025, the Carlsberg Foundation invites researchers at all career levels to apply for funding for basic research activities. The funding is being offered in open competition with no strategic definition of themes and will be awarded to projects and ideas that researchers themselves identify as important. The application deadline is 1 October 2025.
In line with the Carlsberg Foundation’s strategy, the research funding is being offered with the aim of ensuring the highest scientific quality and long-term social value of basic research in Denmark. The foundation’s grants will give researchers the opportunity to devote themselves to research ideas and scientific problems that they themselves define within the natural sciences, humanities and social sciences.
The autumn call 2025 incorporates funding schemes that are aimed at the whole research food chain and therefore open to all researchers – from younger postdocs through to professor level.
For postdocs who have already carried out a research stay abroad, the foundation is offering Reintegration Fellowships that allow them to continue their research activities in a Danish research environment.
For newly appointed associate professors, there are three- to five-year Semper Ardens Accelerate grants for consolidation of an independent research group, while for professors with at least four years’ tenure there are five-year Semper Ardens Accomplish grants for ambitious research projects.
Applicants may also seek funding for research infrastructure, field trips and the preparation of scientific monographs.

The deadline for submission of applications is 4 p.m. CET on 1 October 2025.
